We made fire hats and firetrucks for Fire Prevention Week.
Then we saw a real fire truck! Thanks to the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department for the visit!
We love doing math on the Smartboard!
We did a little science experiment with fire using votive candles. We learned that fire needs heat, fuel, and oxygen (air) to burn. We learned what happened to the flame when we took the oxygen away. We predicted which flame would be extinguished first by looking at how much oxygen was in each jar. We have learned all week about ways to stay safe and prevent fires. Having a home fire drill and a plan are a good idea too!
We spoiled Mrs. Herrmann for her birthday this week! We got to enjoy a delicious cookie cake too thanks to Amelia and her Mom! The birthday guesses were funny...Yes, Mrs. Herrmann turned 20 this year. Mrs. Herrmann is appreciative to everyone for all the kindness and love received on her birthday.
"E" is for Elephant!
"H" is for HIPPO HATS!
Fall Fun!!
Mrs. Beabout was our guest reader this week! We loved the books she brought in from the Columbia Library! We giggled about how silly they were!
