This week we learned about our Five Senses!
We were scientists and used our noses to determine "What's That Smell?" We recorded our hypotheses and then later found out what we were actually smelling. (Lemons, pickles, onion, chocolate, pepper, and coffee) We were pretty accurate! Thanks to Mrs. Homeyer for helping us!
Do you hear what I hear? We used our sense of hearing when we brought in things that made sounds in our "Secret Sound Bags". Our friends had to guess what was making the sound!
"W' is for Woodpcker!
During center time we used our sense of touch to practice letters in sand and we even had pumpkin-scented play-doh to practice counting!
We took a Fall Walk to observe the season with our Five Senses! We looked, listened, smelled, and touched things outside. We did NOT taste anything though! We recorded our observations in our Five Senses Journal.
Lilly's Mom teaches some students who do not have the senses of sight or hearing. For students who cannot see the words, they use braille books like these! We also learned the alphabet in sign language!
Finally, we popped popcorn...an activity where we could use all five senses!
